How Your Fundraising Helps:
Cycle for a Cure raises money for the Henry Schueler 41 & 9 Foundation and supports its mission to fund groundbreaking research in the Mullighan Lab at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Ongoing work in the Mullighan Lab examines the genetic basis of leukemia, particularly high risk acute lymphoblastic leukemia, including hypodiploid ALL. The laboratory has close collaboration with the Children's Oncology Group and the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital Pediatric Cancer Genome Project. Be sure to check out Dr. Mullighan's news release that discusses our support of his lab.
The Foundation also supports Dr. Thomas Walsh, Director of the
Transplantation-Oncology Infectious Diseases Program at New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell as the Henry Schueler Scholar on Mucormycosis. We are supporting a new research study to develop diagnostic assays that will assist in the early diagnosis and initiation of anti-fungal therapy for the treatment of mucormycosis, the fungal disease which took Hank’s life.

Ignite the Spirit Fund, the charitable arm of the Chicago Fire Department, will once again partner with the Foundation and support our ride with logistical support. We are proud to help support their charitable mission of assisting first responder families in need by donating a portion of the Cycle for a Cure proceeds to Ignite the Spirit.
